In One Word...

In my last post I sat reflecting on the past year….2009.
I shared with you some of the things that I had learned along life’s journey.
PhotobucketAs 2010 approaches with its unknown endeavors and events I wonder what it holds for me. So with a giant leap of faith I step into its mysterious domain hoping to gain some new experiences along the way. Each day should hold a new one for me….experiences of knowledge, learning, understanding (or not), all kinds of encounters, feelings and undertakings. I want to experience all that life has to offer me and see how I will handle it.  As they say “It's not only what happens that matters, its how you handle it.”
EXPERIENCING LIFE
So I welcome 2010 as a challenge and opportunity to experience what ever is offered, flung at me, dropped at my feet, and presented by some mere chance of fate. I will try new recipes, new hair styles, new ideas, and new ways of thinking. I will endure and embrace, good or bad; the experience as it unfolds before me. I want to experience with my eyes through my photography, with my creativity, in my mind, with my family, my faith, within my own self and soul, in my comings and goings, with each moment as I stroll through my life in this next year.

Sweet Cream or Sweet Sugar?
Will I be a better person for it? Will I learn from it? Will I gain anything? Only time will tell as it passes day by day, month by month, until the year has once again ended. At that end I know that I will have lived another year, had another birthday, celebrated many occasions, cried, rejoiced, faced obstacles and took many tests…some of which I passed and some I failed. I will have experienced many things. Hopefully I will not look back with any regrets, but look at it through rose colored glasses and have a feeling of accomplishment through many meaningful experiences. Optimistically my 2010 experiences will help build my character.

Imagine...
“Experience” is my word for 2010.

I will encounter each, feel each, face each, muddle through each, savor each, and undergo each. To experience is to live!

Dani has offered this Word for 2010 Challenge to each of us.
Please join us with picking your word for this upcoming new year.
My word replaces any and all New Year’s resolutions that
I have not made and will not make.
I will try to focus on this word as it presents
itself throughout this coming year.

“Life is a series of experiences, each of which makes us bigger, even though it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and grieves which we endure help us in our marching onward.”
~Henry Ford

I look forward to each day with you!
Happy 2010!

Cora, I think that experiencing life, rather that just walking through it, is about all any of us need to hope or strive for. I hope 2010 is full of rich experiences that make you feel.

Happy New Year!
