I’m feeling some what better today; having gotten some antibiotics for this bad cold….I just pray I do not have a relapse! It’s no fun being sick this time of year.

We have our first Christmas family get together this weekend with Jackie’s side of the family…All his brothers, sister, and Mama, spouses, nieces, nephews, steps….etc. Lots of people. We are doing an ornament swap this year…..so I’ve chosen to hand paint mine. They turned out really cute. I’d show you a pix of them but some of the family might see them here. Oh well…. who cares here they are:

We are also doing the finger food thing…So good and YummY! Everyone brings something so there is always lots of good stuff...Anything from chocolate candies, orange balls, chips and dips, and cute creations to Amy’s enchiladas. I know, I know that’s not a “finger” food but we love them! Mrs. P, or Nannie as we all call her, is the main attraction for our Christmas get-togethers. She turned 86 this year and we are so blessed to have her in our lives. She makes the best candy coated pecans you have ever put into your mouth! At Thanksgiving she always makes her specialty: homemade dumplings….now if you have never heard of these or have never had them…you are truly missing out! They are simply rolled out dough strips which are cooked by dropping them into boiling hot chicken broth with lots of black pepper. Oh my how good they are!
Here she is rolling and cutting:

YummY

Again….Congratulations to Amelia!
and
Merry Christmas to All

I look forward to each day with you!

Hint for yesterday's post:  The theme is: Christmas Movies...now see how many you can find and leave your pick in the comments.  Have fun!
